The Collection

Watermark is a collection shaped by a lifetime spent along the shores of southwest Michigan, where water, sand, weather, and built environments quietly leave their mark on the landscape. Growing up in the presence of Lake Michigan—its vast horizon, shifting dunes, and ever-changing shoreline—becoming drawn not only to the subtle patterns created by time and the elements, but also to the way architecture settles into and responds to this environment. Weathered structures, coastal homes, and human-made forms softened by wind, light, erosion and its surroundings.

Works explore its lasting impressions. Layered textures, softened edges, and organic forms echo the movement of water over sand, the erosion of wind, and the quiet rhythms found along the lakeshore, as well as the geometry and restraint of architecture shaped by place. Each piece reflects the traces that both nature and structure leave behind—marks that speak to memory, place, and the passage of time.

Rather than capturing a specific place, Watermark seeks to evoke a feeling—the stillness of the shoreline, the rhythm of the water, and the quiet connection between the natural world and the spaces we create within it. Each work offers a moment of pause, where familiarity emerges slowly through texture, form, and memory.
